Do I need an account?

No. There is no account system at all, which is the whole point.

Where does my data go?

Nowhere. It stays in your browser on your device. Switching devices? Download a backup first and restore it there.

Does MonkeeTools charge any fees?

No. There is no subscription, no per-invoice charge, and no payment processing cut. If a client pays you through your own Stripe link, Stripe's own fee applies, but MonkeeTools itself never takes a cut.

Can I switch to MonkeeTools from another invoicing tool?

If your clients pay through PayPal and you are happy, stay. But know the math: PayPal takes 3.49% + 49 cents every time a client pays a PayPal invoice, and your invoice data lives on PayPal's servers inside a PayPal account. MonkeeTools takes no cut at all, needs no account, and stores nothing. If your clients pay by Zelle, check, cash, or your own payment link, you are paying PayPal for nothing.
